Brahim’s Dewina Group and Baitul Hayati Foundation donates refrigerator food truck to Food Aid Foundation to feed the needy
Bangi, 16 July 2017 — Brahim’s Dewina Group of Companies and Baitul Hayati Foundation continue collaboration with Food Aid Foundation to promote the noble cause of collecting edible halal surplus food from non-perishable, raw to cooked food from groceries, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers, and process them in their central kitchen and convert them to nutritious meals for distribution to the poor and needy in Klang Valley and charity homes.
Brahim’s Dewina and Baitul Hayati Foundation donated a one-tonne refrigerator truck to facilitate Food Aid Foundation’s increased food processing and distribution activities. The donation was handed over by Tun Abdullah Hj Ahmad Badawi to Rick Chee, Founder of Food Aid Foundation during the Brahim’s Dewina Hari Raya and Brahim’s 29th Anniversary Celebrations in Bangi on 16 July 2017.
Since last year, the surplus food donating partners from groceries, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers stores have donated more than 187 tons of surplus food which are equivalent to 700,000 meals that benefit 12,000 people monthly.
This additional food truck will help collect food items from 9 Tesco outlets and deliver food to more than 140 charity and welfare homes daily.
